The Center for Balanced Living is located in Columbus, OH. Since 2000, The Center has existed as a non-profit treatment center that specializes in providing outpatient, IOP, and PHP treatment to individuals with eating disorders. In addition to individual and group psychotherapy and dietary services, we also provide medication management services with psychiatric nurse practitioners.

While it is common at this time for individuals in the Columbus area to wait several months for outpatient psychiatry services, The Center is generally able to schedule someone for an initial assessment within 2-3 weeks of their initial phone call.

Sarah Bergen, our outpatient psychiatric nurse practitioner, completed the advanced practice nurse practitioner program at The Ohio State University in 2016 and served as a member of our medical team during her graduate training. Upon earning her license, she accepted a position at The Emily Program in Spokane, Washington, where she worked for more than two years in the levels of care spanning from outpatient to residential. Sarah returned to The Center in March of this year with a strong skill set and knowledge base, and she offers excellent, person-centered, evidence-based care to individuals with and without eating disorders.

If you are a student who needs medication management services, we would welcome the opportunity to serve you. Below is our process:
• The individual needing services should call The Center’s main line at 614-896-8222.
• They will be scheduled for a free 20-25 minute phone triage with a member of our Admissions team to ensure they are appropriate for outpatient treatment at The Center.
• Once completed, they will be scheduled for an initial diagnostic assessment with Sarah, generally within 2-3 weeks.

Please note we accept all major insurances; we can secure single case agreements with Medicaid products Molina and CareSource; and we serve individuals with and without eating disorders, ages 16 and up.
