Sara Szymczak PMHNP
Sara Szymczak (SIM-check) is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience. She is an active member in the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society and alumna to Marquette University (BSN), Fairfield University (MSN) and Duke University (DNP). Much of her clinical experience comes from her time in the Army, from 2014-2020 where she treated complex PTSD and substance abuse. Sara is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences, where she created a 100% online psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. Sara’s clinical approach is ground heavily the nursing theory of interpersonal relationships and works collaboratively to develop personalized care plans that align with her patients' goals and values. Outside of clinical care, Sara enjoys cycling, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
