Hello, I'm Saffire McCool-Smith, LCSW. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I've had the honor of supporting individuals through various stages of their lives. My journey began with earning two bachelor's degrees in psychology and law studies from Marquette University, followed by a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Throughout my career, I've worked in diverse settings, including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, community environments, and virtual platforms. In each of these roles, my focus has always been on providing personalized care tailored to each client's unique needs. I strive to create an environment of warmth, mutual respect, trust, and understanding, ensuring that you feel safe and secure, even during your most vulnerable moments. My approach to therapy is collaborative; I believe in building a strong partnership with my clients. Together, we identify issues, solve problems, and develop a set of tools that work specifically for you. My specialties include anxiety, depression, family relationships, LGBTQIA+ support, military and veteran support, multicultural and diversity issues, perinatal support (including pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum), somatic symptom disorder, and stress management. I have extensive experience working with BIPOC individuals, LGBTQIA+ communities, new mothers and parents, pregnant individuals, those struggling with infertility, active-duty military personnel, veterans, military spouses, the homeless, and those who have been previously incarcerated. Outside of my professional life, I am deeply committed to fostering inclusivity and understanding in all aspects of my work. I take my role in helping you achieve your mental wellness goals very seriously and am dedicated to supporting you every step of the way. If you're ready to embark on this journey towards mental wellness together, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to create a path that leads to a healthier, more fulfilling life.
