I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Over the years I have learned many lessons, but none as important as meeting people where they are. I believe it is important for people to not only be heard, but to use their voice when developing our plan for growth and change. By providing a safe, affirming and respectful space, I believe people can accomplish their goals for emotional recovery, changing difficult behaviors, and living a life they value.
My style of therapy is directly related to my own personal expectations for all care: If someone is coming in for help, it is my responsibility to be compassionate, affirming and respectful to that person. Because of this, I believe in brief evidence-based therapies. I want people to feel empowered and confident to make changes in their lives that not only help now, but can be used well after therapy has concluded. People come to therapy for many reasons, and I aim to focus on those specific reasons so people can get back to being active participants in their own lives. My priority is to get my clients out of therapy, with skills to cope and succeed without long-term professional support.
