River Wylde Counseling and Consulting
The students I work best with often share some really tender, human experiences. If you’re reading this and feeling seen, that makes a lot of sense 🤍
Many of the students I support live with real pain. That can look like childhood trauma, hard memories, or growing up without anyone truly seeing, hearing, or caring for you the way you needed. Sometimes someone was there, but it did not feel safe, steady, or comforting. Those experiences stay with you. They can show up as anxiety, shutdown, people pleasing, or feeling like you have to do everything on your own.
I also work with students who live with chronic pain and disabilities. That kind of pain is not just physical. It affects your emotions, your energy, your relationships, and how safe your body feels in the world. Therapy with me includes accessibility, acceptance, and adapting to what your body and life actually need. There is no pressure to push through, fix yourself, or pretend things are easier than they are. We work with your reality, not against it.
My vibe is gentle, warm, and very down to earth. I do not use a lot of therapy jargon. We talk like real people. We go at your pace. Safety matters here, especially if being cared for has not always felt safe in the past. Humor is welcome too, because sometimes laughing together helps things feel a little less heavy.
A few important things about me so you can get a feel for who I am:
I have 4 dogs and yes, they come up in conversation
I love iced coffee year round
I do hot Pilates, which is both grounding and humbling
I show up as myself in the room
If you are a student who wants therapy that feels human, supportive, and accepting, especially if you carry trauma, pain, or a body that needs extra care, this space might be a good fit. You do not have to have the right words or the right story. You just have to show up as you are. I will meet you there 💛
