I am a mid career psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. I see people for psychoanalysis and intensive psychotherapy. If appropriate, I prescribe medications for patients who are seeing me for psychotherapy or psychoanalysis, but I don't see patients for "medication management" visits. I see a wide range of patients who are interested in using psychotherapy to address the problems they are facing in life. Insight oriented psychotherapy and psychoanalysis help people who want to see their strengths, but also look at what they may be doing to contribute to their difficulties. The support of a deeply engaged therapeutic relationship can help people grow and thrive.
