I specialize in helping individuals from diverse backgrounds navigate anxiety, depression, PTSD, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting first-generation Americans and BIPOC individuals, with a focus on the South Asian community, to address issues like identity, acculturation, family dynamics, and the unique pressures that come with bridging cultures.
As a licensed master social worker, I’ve worked with clients of all ages, from children to older adults, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns. My experience includes supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, managing high-risk situations like self-harm and suicidality, and helping individuals facing mood disorders and personality disorders. Whether you're struggling with stress, feeling stuck, or processing trauma, I provide a compassionate space where your voice is heard and your experiences are validated.
I use a combination of evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, including CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused care. My work is informed by psychodynamic techniques and polyvagal theory, which help address both the roots of your challenges and the tools you need to move forward. Together, we’ll focus on building your strengths, cultivating healthier coping strategies, and developing deeper self-understanding so you can navigate life with confidence.
As a therapist fluent in Bangla, I also work to make mental health care more accessible to the Bengali community in the New York area. My goal is to destigmatize mental health challenges, especially for those who may come from cultures where seeking support has not always been encouraged or understood. I understand how cultural pressures, discrimination, and systemic barriers can impact well-being, and I am here to help you work through those experiences in a way that feels authentic and affirming.
Let’s work together to help you create a life that feels fulfilling, balanced, and true to who you are.
