Renee Brown
Hello! My name is Renee and I have been a therapist for 17 years. I meet my clients with empathy, compassion, and the greatest respect for having the courage to look at oneself with honesty and embrace change. We all have the innate capacity to heal ourselves and the natural desire to grow and be the best version of ourselves. By creating a safe, non-judgmental space, I aim to help clients understand themselves better, uncover their own capacity to heal from pain, and ultimately find more meaning, authenticity, and joy in their life.
I am experienced in helping adults and adolescents to recover from traumatic events and manage Anxiety. My approach emphasizes the mind body connection utilizing CBT, Mindfulness, and Somatic Awareness. I am certified in EMDR, a research based treatment for PTSD.
I especially enjoy working with college students as they navigate the stresses of university life and transitioning to adulthood. As a first generation college student myself, I recall the self doubts, anxiety, and identity shifts that can accompany the college experience.
