I am a seasoned professional with a background in senior services, disability services and holistic health. I proudly identify as neuro-divergent, Queer and gender non-conforming, and enjoy working with teens and adults of all ages.
In 2016, standing at the edge of a major breakthrough in my mental health journey, I was struck by the people who surrounded me: therapists, doctors, social workers, crisis workers, and a circle of supportive friends and family. Each of them played a unique and vital part in my healing. I was amazed by the positive influence these people had on my life. I was especially grateful for my individual therapist at the time, who was especially effective in the way she delivered care. It was during this time that I made the decision to return to school to train as a therapist. Then In 2022, while attending PSU, I received a diagnosis of ADHD at the age of 42. This experience only strengthened my mission to provide support to others who may have similar experiences.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Portland State University. I went on to complete a Master’s in Clinical Social Work at the same institution. During my studies, I explored topics like racial equity, housing for LGBTQIAA+ seniors, trauma-informed care, feminist therapy, solution-focused therapy, migration, anti-oppressive models of care. Beyond my academic work, I have received post-graduate, on-the-job training in the assessment and treatment of ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), Bipolar I and II, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) among others. I take an eclectic and creative approach to therapy. My work draws from several therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I have supported clients dealing with conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, Autism, gender dysphoria, adjustment disorder and mood disorders such as Bipolar II and Bipolar II. I am passionate about offering an alternative to what is traditionally known as "talk therapy." With consent as the foundation for every session, I work collaboratively with clients to identify personal goals and develop practical strategies that help them carry their new skills into everyday life.
If you're curious about whether or not we would work well together, please don't hesitate to reach out! We can talk it over together.
