It has not been an easy few years. Perhaps anxiety and depression have been following you for many years, perhaps a lifetime. Perhaps you have a history of trauma, conflict, or broken family relations. Or maybe you are dealing with chronic or acute illnessâeither as a patient or a caregiverâor working through grief after a loss. I look at therapy as an opportunity to not only gain insight into yourself but to push through the challenges and obstacles in your life so you can build your emotional strength for coping and learning.
I feel honored to help clients trying to manage transitions, family issues, and conflicts, and lossâincluding death and relationship break-ups as well as the loss of hopes and dreams. What I love about being a therapist is the opportunity to build a safe and therapeutic relationship from which I can help others see things in new ways. My approach to practice includes exploring existential issues as well as practical day-to-day interpersonal conflicts. I am EMDR-trained and use this approach, when appropriate, to help clients work through issues from their past. I also enjoy touching on the spiritual and sharing mindfulness practices that are particularly useful for reducing anxiety. My philosophy of practice is that caring and skilled listening is often what people need to gain the inner confidence to rethink and rework whatever challenges they face.
I would be happy to schedule a phone conversation to explore working together and to set a time for an initial appointment.
