Higher learning can be an opportunity for many people to have awakenings and clarifications about their strengths, identities, values, and goals. These awakenings can be exciting, but also painful, confusing, and scary as we learn maybe we aren't as good at something as we used to be, that maybe what we learned about ourselves and the world was limited in our upbringing, and that the relationships we thought were solid are all of a sudden seeming to be crumbling around us.

Finding peace in the experience of discovering yourself can be even more challenging for those who have come to study post-military service, post-incarceration, post-family caregiving tasks, as a first generation college student, or as a student coming from a closed/conservative background in an inclusive setting for the first time.

Understanding who you are can feel overwhelming when the values and rules you may have been taught in your past career, family of origin, or faith are now up for question and debate in new social circles and new spheres of self-discovery. And on top of it all, you have a massive paper due next week, and several lab reports that you're behind on.

I have spent the past 15 years working with college and university students, particularly those who are experiencing some questioning of their beliefs, identity, and strengths, as well as those seeking to deepen their examination of relationships with self, others, and habits.

We can work together on finding inner peace while also building up some emotion regulation skills, stress management skills, communication skills, organizational and time-management skills, and acceptance skills.

Together we can (re)build your self-esteem, (re)clarify your strengths, and increase confidence to handle whatever may be on your horizon.
