Paul Hoffman
Are you feeling overwhelmed by college life, struggling with anxiety, depression, social anxiety, or caught in cycles of overthinking? You're not alone—and you don’t have to go through it alone.
I’m Dr. Paul Hoffman, a clinical psychologist with over 19 years of experience supporting college students through their most challenging moments. For the past two decades, I worked at Yale Mental Health and Counseling, including five years as its Director, helping thousands of students manage anxiety, depression, OCD, and the intense transition to college life.
Whether you're adjusting to a new environment, facing academic pressure, navigating relationships, or coping with the stress of high expectations, I provide a warm, collaborative space to explore what’s going on—and tools to help you move forward. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic approaches and integrates evidence-based therapies like CBT and exposure-based techniques, but always tailored to who you are as a person.
You’re at a pivotal time in life, full of potential—and also pressure. Therapy can be a place to breathe, reflect, and learn how to handle what’s hard with more confidence and clarity.
Let’s work together to help you feel more grounded, more in control, and more yourself.
