Dr. Paige Harris is a licensed psychologist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults. Through individualized, evidence-based treatment, she helps people move closer to the lives they want to be living, and approaches each person with warmth, openness, humor and enthusiasm.
She has particular expertise in addressing:
- Anxiety, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, separation anxiety, specific phobias, and panic
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related conditions
- Questions around sexual or gender identity development and gender transition
Dr. Harris primarily uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach when working with individuals experiencing anxiety or OCD. She is formally trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and exposure-based therapies more generally. Dr. Harris knows that facing fears or worry can feel immensely challenging, and enjoys showing people how, step by step, they can become their bravest, most resilient selves.
Dr. Harris welcomes all identities and approaches the LGBTQ+ individuals she works with from an affirming stance. Exploring and understanding our important identities can greatly contribute to happiness, and she provides guidance and support to young people around doing so.
Dr. Harris is also a Clinical Instructor in the University of Washington Department of Psychology. She regularly teaches and supervises graduate students in a variety of clinical skills and evidence-based interventions. Before coming to CAPSS, Dr. Harris was a clinical director of anxiety and OCD programming at Cadence Child & Adolescent Therapy.
