I use EMDR therapy to target and reprocess traumatic experiences and co-occurring symptoms (such as depression, anxiety, anger, or substance use) so that the person can not only heal but thrive. I encourage people to draw strength from their religious/spiritual beliefs and practices during this process if they do have such a foundation. There are also many other resources we use for emotional regulation.
