Provider Types

This is a group practice with multiple providers, including:

  • Psychologists

Dr. Bennett is a Licensed Psychologist who takes an integrated approach to psychotherapy, incorporating aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Clinical Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. He does not adhere to a standardized approach to therapy and feels that clients benefit most from a unique, individually tailored treatment plan.

Dr. Bennett has worked with individual clients ranging in age from pre-teen to late adulthood and has gained experience treating depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, specific phobias, and trauma. He has served on integrative teams for parents and children in Child Protective Services (CPS) cases as well as on collaborative teams providing treatment for clients residing in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Additionally, he has extensive experience working with victims of sexual assault and individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Dr. Bennett has extensive experience working with service members and their families. He has a thorough understanding of military culture as he is a Veteran of the U.S. Army and Army National Guard who served on two combat deployments.

In couples therapy, he embraces the Gottman method, but also incorporates an attachment-based, emotionally focused approach, allowing couples to conceptualize the negative, rigid interaction patterns and negative affect that often leads to distress in relationships. He is also experienced in group therapy, including LGBTQ+ support, sexual assault survivor support, domestic violence offender rehabilitation, and anger management.

Dr. Bennett conducts merit evaluations of plaintiffs involved in sexual abuse lawsuits, psychological testing for social security disability claimants, and assessments of those seeking gender affirmation surgeries.

Dr. Bennett earned a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree from California Southern University and successfully defended a dissertation which examined the relationship between toxic masculinity and the perpetration of sexual violence. He completed post-doctoral experience at Russian River Counselors in Monte Rio, CA, and Parkhurst Associates Mental Health Services in Washington, D.C.
