Natasha Buhl, LMSW
Life can be messy, unpredictable, wonderful, and fragile – and it can also be overwhelming. I value opportunities to slow down and listen to our bodies, emotions, and needs. Therapy is a space where you can do that - and not do it alone. I strive to create an environment where there is an authentic and trusting human connection. Throughout the therapeutic process, I aim to help you recognize how relationships, family system, core beliefs, and lived experiences have impacted and continue to impact your sense of self, worldviews, behaviors, decisions, and patterns. As an Asian/Filipina therapist, I also recognize the impact of intersecting identities and cultural biases on navigating the complexities of life and mental health. I offer to work alongside you as you connect with safety, engage with emotions, explore defenses, build authenticity, and cultivate hope - all the while we both affirm your inner strength and worth.
I primarily work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity issues, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and women’s issues. I work with individuals with various backgrounds and identities, including but not limited to those who are in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities.
I'm a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Michigan and a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I hold a double major BA in Psychology and Biology through Hope College and an MSW from Western Michigan University. I have been working in the mental health field since 2017 and as a psychotherapist since 2022.
