Momentum Counseling
Hi, I’m so glad you’re here, because you deserve support.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in old patterns, or exhausted by your relationship with food, movement, or your body, you’re not alone. There is hope for healing and a way to feel more like yourself again.
I’m a resident in counseling based in Charlottesville, VA, passionate about walking alongside college students and young adults navigating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, body image concerns, and life transitions. My approach to therapy is relational, holistic, trauma-informed, and aligned with Health at Every Size (HAES). This means that together, we’ll explore your story at your pace with curiosity, compassion, and safety, to help you feel seen, grounded, and whole.
I also offer EMDR therapy, a trauma-informed approach that helps your mind and body process painful experiences and find relief. My background as a mother/baby nurse, cross-country coach, and my own recovery journey give me deep empathy for the challenges my clients face. As a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), I also support clients in healing their relationship with exercise, shifting from punishment or perfectionism toward connection, strength, and joy, and can incorporate that into therapy if desired.
If you prefer movement in your sessions, I offer walk-and-talk therapy as an option for those who find it easier to process while moving outdoors.
For anyone who would find it beneficial, I offer Christian faith-based integration from a compassionate, grace-centered perspective, exploring how your beliefs and values can support your healing journey.
Whether we meet in person in Charlottesville, virtually through telehealth, or outdoors on a walk, you’re welcome to come just as you are. Some days we might laugh; other days we’ll hold space for hard things (because both are part of healing).
All backgrounds and beliefs are welcome here.
You matter. Your story matters.
