*Immediate availability; I am working on being able to accept more insurance, and will update as this happens!*
College is time of newly found independence. Making new friends, starting new classes, and engaging in new hobbies is exciting! It can also be scary, challenging, and lonely. It can feel like there is nobody to turn to, or like you are navigating the unknown, or like there is no way to deal with the overwhelming new circumstances. I help clients embrace their strengths while learning to cope and coexist with their vulnerabilities, pain, and grief.
Utilizing a trauma-informed approach, I specialize in helping clients with depression, anxiety, grief, substance use, and major life transitions. I also offer help to those who have family or friends struggling with mental health or substance use. I work alongside you to reduce stress and anxiety and target ongoing barriers keeping you from being successful. Whether it be school or work-related stress, family conflict, or difficulty breaking an unhealthy habit, I offer a space to explore oneself without threat of judgement.
I use evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Relapse Prevention in order to tailor the therapy process to each individual. If you are looking for a therapist who is honest, real, and finds moments of laughter and light along the way, I would be happy to work with you!
