Christopher Collado
I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can feel authentic, feel seen and heard, and can express themselves. I am passionate about supporting my clients and believe that everyone deserves a life they can be happy with. I feel that therapy can be a transformational space- a space for being able to express oneself regardless of what we have been through or the backgrounds we come from.
As an LMSW, I am here to help provide an empathetic, non judgmental, collaborative, and an authentic space for you to be genuinely supported and safe in your therapy journey. I work from a strengths-based, client-centered approach, which means I believe you are the expert on your life — and together, we build on the resilience and insight you already have.
I work with young adults and individuals navigating major life changes, low self-esteem, anxiety, interpersonal challenges, and feeling stuck. This includes managing academic stress, career development, identity exploration, and moving toward independent living. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you while working toward meaningful growth and change.
I am deeply committed and have experience in providing affirming care for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. In my work, I have supported clients in addressing identity-related stress, experiences of discrimination, internalized stigma, family and cultural dynamics, intersectionality, and the emotional impact of systemic oppression. I understand how identity, culture, and lived experiences shape our lives and mental health, and I strive to create a space where all parts of you are welcomed, respected, and valued.
I integrate psychodynamic therapy to help uncover patterns rooted in past experiences and relationships, allowing for deeper insight and long-term growth. I also draw from Motivational Interviewing to support you in navigating ambivalence and building confidence in your ability to make meaningful changes. Pulling from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we work on developing psychological flexibility — learning how to relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions while moving toward the values that matter most to you.
Therapy is a collaborative journey. If you’re ready to explore, heal, and strengthen your sense of self, I would be honored to support you.
