Michele (Mollie) Poorman, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist. Dr. Poorman started in private practice in 2004 working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Prior to starting her private practice, she was a clinical director at a psychiatric hospital and a therapist at a juvenile correctional facility. Dr. Poorman received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Child and Family Psychology from Michigan State University. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Northwest Ohio Consortium.
Dr. Poorman is a family systems and cognitive behavioral therapist who adjusts her approach to meet the needs of the individual and family. She believes in empowerment, practical coping skills, mindfulness, and the power of selfcare. Her areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, trauma, women’s issues, behavioral problems, ADHD, developmental transitions and learning difficulties. Dr. Poorman enjoys her work and feels fortunate that people share their story and challenges with her. She believes that seeking help is a sign of strength and respects clients’ willingness to be vulnerable in order to accomplish their goals.
