Hello, I'm Melissa. I hold a Bachelor's degree in psychology and graduated from The Ohio State University in 2007 with a Master's in Social Work. As a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), I find great fulfillment in working in private practice, primarily with adults. I firmly believe that therapy is all about you—this is your time and energy, and I'm here to help you explore the past, live in the moment, and prepare for the future.

In our sessions, I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Acceptance Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. These methods are designed to guide you through the healing process and help you achieve your therapeutic goals. My approach is always calm and understanding, even in the most stressful and difficult situations.

With over 20 years of experience in case management, social work, and individual therapy, I have had the privilege of engaging, mentoring, and counseling children, adolescents, adults, and families during various stages of their lives. This includes times of crisis, stress, loss/grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, mental health issues, relationship issues, and life transitions.

I specialize in areas such as anxiety, depression, developmental disabilities, family relationships, grief/bereavement, intimate/romantic relationships, life transitions, stress, anger management, perinatal support (pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum), trauma, autism spectrum support, and bipolar disorder. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth services for those who prefer remote sessions.

If you're ready to take the next step in your journey, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's work together to create a path towards healing and growth.
