Melinda Mays
In my practice I try to meet clients where they are and help them reach their best level of functioning. Most of my clients are dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress and grief. I work with clients to help them understand their thoughts and emotions and how to improve relationships. I have worked for the last sixteen years as a college instructor so I am well aware of the challenges faced by college students.
I feel the best counseling approach is to work collaboratively with clients to define and reach their personal goals. The first session will be focused on determining what those are. I have skills knowledge and experience I bring to the table, but the client is in the driver's seat. It is my hope that each client, given the safe space and guidance I provide can reach their best life.
