Hi, I’m Dr. Mehrit Tekeste—a licensed clinical psychologist. Whether you’re navigating college, adjusting to life after graduation, starting a new job, or working through family or relationship challenges, I offer flexible, accessible support to meet you where you are—both emotionally and geographically.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including college counseling centers, a community mental health clinic, and a substance use treatment program—experiences that deepened my commitment to working with emerging adults navigating life’s many transitions.
I especially enjoy working with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds and with those exploring questions of identity, purpose, and belonging. Some of the areas I commonly support clients with include:
-Anxiety, depression, and stress
-Complex grief and loss
-ADHD and executive function difficulties
-Childhood and relational trauma
-Family dynamics and interpersonal conflict
-Bi- and multicultural identity development
-Intergenerational and racial/cultural trauma
-Life transitions—graduating, adulting, moving, and more
My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. I integrate techniques from CBT, ACT, DBT, multicultural counseling, and family systems, while tailoring our work to your lived experience, values, and goals. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need space to figure things out, I’m here to help you explore what’s getting in the way and what healing can look like for you.
