Inclusive Psychotherapy in New York for Adolescents, Adults, and Couples/Relationships

You worry all the time about being judged by other people. You feel disconnected from your body and, at the same time, feel like it’s all you think about. You question what you say, how your body looks, if you’re doing things “right,” and there are so many times when your mind feels like it’s on a hamster wheel that you can’t stop. You’re on edge all day and sometimes feel like you may be having a heart attack.

You don’t feel like you fit in anywhere. You’ve been made fun of for many different parts of who you are. You’ve been called weird or misunderstood at work, in your family, and even in some of your dating relationships. You’ve struggled to find someone who feels like a good fit romantically, and you’re worried there’s something wrong with you.

From the start, we want you to know that at Meadow Therapy, we believe you have inherent worth simply by being born. Throughout your life, you’ve learned tools for survival that may no longer feel like they serve you. We can help you shift those survival skills using Mind to Body Psychotherapy. Mind to Body Psychotherapy is a mix of body-based work, exploration of childhood hurts, the neuroscience of emotions/emotional regulation, and other concrete coping skills, that will help you tap into your inner resources. You already have many creative tools you’ve used for survival. One of our goals is to help you move out of survival mode into having a thriving and fulfilling life.

We offer inclusive therapy for adolescents and adults, couples therapy, and group therapy. Using Mind-to-Body Psychotherapy, we can help quiet your harsh thoughts, soothe your racing heart, and calm your body. We specialize in working with trauma survivors, LGBTQIA+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, Trans and Gender-Nonconforming, Self-Harming, Addicted, fat/larger-bodied, disabled, kink/BDSM, and polyamorous people. We see you as the flora and fauna that come together harmoniously in the meadow.
