Provider Types
This is a group practice with multiple providers, including:
- Psychologists
Hello and welcome. I am glad you are searching for help and hope my profile can provide a little more information about myself and my practice. I am a counseling psychologist with a background in the treatment of anxiety, depression and other common mental health concerns and a specialty in LGBTQI issues. I treat adults, couples (Gottman Method), and children/families (specifically those seeking support with LGBTQI issues). I am also a JHU alum and appreciate the challenges that come with adjusting to a rigorous academic environment, especially for first generation students, international students and those who have experienced pressure to achieve.
I understand that college is a time for many people to explore their identity in general and know that sexual, sexuality and gender development is a big part of identity. If you are exploring these issues, you are certainly not alone. I specialize in working with issues related to sexuality and gender identity using culturally-competent approaches. I am a WPATH member, have authored several articles and book chapters on these issues and serve on SAMHSA's National Workgroup to Address the Needs of Children and Youth Who Are LGBTQI2-S.
In terms of my style, I approach therapy from a humanistic lens supported by research findings. This means that I believe we all have universal needs and are during our best to meet them, even if sometimes it doesn't work so well. In my work with individuals, we explore not only emotional health but also personal goals, social and family life, physical health, academic/career progress, as well as other aspects of identity/culture (e.g. race, ethnicity, sexuality, etc.). I value authenticity, vulnerability, creativity, and humor in therapy, though I know that is easier said than done.
Please feel free to review my website for more information or contact me with any questions you may have.
NOTE: Though my personal caseload is full, I may have a staff member with immediate availability. I am also happy to add you to my wait-list should you prefer. See below for more information.
