Last Updated 30+ days ago

Do you want to improve your relationships? Would you like greater satisfaction from school? Are you having difficulty sleeping? Are you struggling to cope with changes in your life, to your health, or with a loss? Do you need help with your marriage or partner? Is something missing in your life and you just can’t figure it out? Perhaps you feel the need to understand yourself or your behavior.

As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is for you to not only feel better but to gain an awareness that you have the inner strength to overcome obstacles and feel more in control. My private practice, Life in Progress Counseling, provides an environment that is safe, accepting and understanding. Our collaborative discussions will be private, supportive and positive. I am passionate about working with people to address challenging situations in their lives.

My areas of expertise include: stress, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, sleep issues, college counseling, crisis, trauma, life adjustment issues (career, health and education) and psychotic disorders. The main focus of my work is with adult individuals. Settings I have worked at include: college career and counseling centers, private practices, hospital psychology departments, and community organizations.

I believe in utilizing holistic approaches that fit the individual needs. I often find a person-centered and solution-focused approach to be beneficial by providing genuineness, acceptance and empathy. Instead of looking solely at problems, we would focus on solutions that you would like see in the future. Some additional techniques I routinely use are cognitive behavioral interventions, meditation, family systems therapy and motivational interviewing.

I have worked with a wide range of people during my career, always with the focus of helping individuals to reach their goals. I am committed to providing accepting, effective and personalized care. I would be privileged to assist you in reaching your true potential while helping create skills to cope, manage and overcome life issues.
