Marisa Bowie
Therapy should be a place where you can fully be yourself, feel heard and supported. That is the type of atmosphere I try to create within sessions. With a person-centered approach we will work on the matters that are most important to you and find interventions that work in your life. Therapy can be hard and challenging, I will be by your side the entire way to provide support, validation and new approaches to help you handle the hard times. I am passionate about helping others find more laughter and joy from their life. People are often more resilient than they think and it is never too late to try and create a more fulfilling life.
Prior to working in private practice I spent several years working for a community mental health. There I worked as an outpatient therapist. I worked with children, families and adults with issues such as depression, anxiety, family conflict, as well as financial stressors and life stressors. During my time there I also did significant amounts of work with people who have lived through trauma.
