Dr. Smith is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the Chicagoloand area. For the past 15 years of clinical practice, child & adolescent development, trauma, LGBTQ communities, men’s & minority mental health have informed his work in the clinical, teaching and research setting. In session Dr. Smith takes a relational approach which affords clients to honor their pace in unpacking difficult experiences and develop a strong collaboration in treatment. He also uses a multicultural and systemic lens which gives room to deepen a client’s understanding of their cultural values and identify challenges in larger systems which may contribute to their current functioning.
