When thinking about mental health, we often think of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and other diagnoses that have symptoms that can keep you stuck. While I consider these symptoms, I also view them as a part of you, not all of you. I have found that these parts typically serve a function in your life and it's my mission to help you explore the deeper meaning of their purpose and how they originated. By doing this, we can better understand their role in your life and what lived experiences they are responding to while offering them a new position that is congruent to who you are and your current goals. Examples of this can be transforming controlling qualities into a capacity for more ease in life, helping characteristics of codependency become self-supporting, transitioning an inner critic voice into an inner mentor, and so on.

The relationship I have with my clients is something I value and see as a healing tool. Our dynamic provides a comfortable and safe space to process emotional and sometimes overwhelming situations. It also serves as a safe haven for you to come to after you have experienced new changes and encounters. As a therapist, I am a supportive, compassionate, and non-judgmental guide who offers you the knowledge and tools to safely explore and restore the relationship you have with yourself and others. I do this using a variety of expressive activities like journaling, grounding exercises, and guided meditations. I am also honored and appreciative to be on this journey with you.

I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Master's degree in Counselor Education specializing in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy. While in graduate school, I received training as a wellness coach assisting college students in stress management and balanced nutrition goal sets. Since then, I have held therapeutic journal groups and worked in private practice and the nonprofit sector addressing social-emotional development. I counsel adults, families, and couples using Internal Family Systems, Attachment-Based Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Family Systems Theory. Special interest areas of my practice include helping clients heal from trauma, behavioral patterns, eating disorders, and relational concerns.
