Maggie Hogan
Balancing academic pressure, work demands, and personal expectations can leave even the most driven college and graduate students or young professionals feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out. Perfectionism, constant self-criticism, and fear of letting others—or yourself—down can make life feel heavier than it looks from the outside.
I specialize in therapy for college and graduate students and young professionals struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, high achievement stress, early career concerns, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. I also work with survivors of sexual trauma and individuals who want to better understand how past experiences continue to shape their emotions, relationships, and sense of self. Many of the clients I see are motivated and thoughtful but feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people-pleasing, or pushing themselves at the expense of their well-being.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and values-focused. I integrate psychodynamic therapy with evidence-based behavioral approaches such as CBT, ACT, and DBT, along with emotion-focused, self-compassion, and strengths-based perspectives. Together, we’ll explore both underlying patterns and practical tools to help you move forward with greater clarity, balance, and self-trust.
Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you or pushing you harder. It is about understanding yourself more fully, reducing anxiety’s hold, and building a life that aligns with your values rather than fears. I offer telehealth therapy to make support accessible for busy academic and professional lives. If this sounds like you, I invite you to explore my website and reach out for a consultation.
I see clients in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, and Colorado. I am also PSYPACT authorized to see clients in 40 additional states.
*Note: I am in-network with several insurances in Massachusetts and Colorado, and I am out-of-network in New York, New Hampshire, and in PSYPACT states. I provide a superbill for my clients to request reimbursement from their insurance. Please reach out with any questions; I'm happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.
