Marriage & Family Therapist, LMFT
Accepting clients Last Updated 1 days ago

I offer telehealth video and phone sessions. Most, if not all insurance companies are approving out-of-state clients to work with me but they require you to call them to gain approval if your home address is not Connecticut.

Along with individual sessions, I also offer a weekly online group for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in healthy ways of thinking. The participants find that they learn as much from each other as they do from me.

I enjoy helping people through life transitions, to make change less anxiety provoking so clients can move forward with less fear and greater confidence. I practice as a mentor, pointing people to their healthiest, best selves so they can handle any situation or circumstance with more grace and ease.

I attended Southern Ct State University and graduated from Lesley University with a master's degree in 1978. I moved to SF CA. where I spent two years interning at Stanford University Children's Hospital on the Psychosomatic Unit where I worked mostly with Eating Disorders. I also interned at the VA Hospital as an Art Therapist and later on in private practice.

I received my license in Florida in 1985 and in CT in 1994. I worked at the Child Guidance Clinic in New Britain and also Grove Hill Medical Center when they had a Psychiatry Clinic before going into private practice in 1994.

I offer an online group at a time that is most convenient for participants. The goal is to help everyone see things from the healthiest perspective.

I accept most insurance companies but please make sure that you are not still listed with a different company from a time before you became insured as a student. It only requires a phone call to the insurance co. you believe to be primary and ask them if they have you listed with a primary and a secondary insurance.

My hours are between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Monday - Thursday

I recommend these books:
"Victim of Thought" by Jill Whalen for anxiety, "Somebody Should Have Told Us" by Jack Pransky, "The Inside-Out Revolution" by Michael Neil, and "The Secret of Love, Unlock the Mystery, Unleash the Magic" by me and my coauthor - Christine Heath

Please call with any questions or to schedule an appointment.

I look forward to working with you if you think I'm a good fit.

Thank you!
Lori
