I am a Masterâs level-trained, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with a background in geriatric counseling and family counseling. My background includes in-depth training and experience with multiple therapeutic modalities. Clinically and personally, I bring a broad range of experience to my practice. My work can be described as being inclusive of individual and group psychotherapy with people from varying backgrounds, ages, races, genders, and sexual preferences. I have worked predominantly with the geriatric population, adult children of aging parents, disabled persons, and individuals with complex medical conditions. Treatment focus areas for those populations have included but are not limited to: loss of independence, life transitions, depression, grief/loss, family conflict, dementia, higher levels of care needs, and chronic medical conditions.
I bring personal experience to the table, caring for an elderly parent who has dementia and navigating the struggles associated with memory loss and the responsibilities associated with being a caregiver. In addition, my background includes working with families and adolescents who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationships. My style can be described as an eclectic approach, integrating many principles of cognitive behavioral, interpersonal therapy, family systems, and solution-focused therapy. I strive to make therapy sessions healing, enlightening, and a time that my patients look forward to.
