Though it may be difficult to see the opportunity for healing and change in the midst of a struggle, seeking help is a first step toward new possibilities.
I am dedicated to building a deep relationship with you and provide a private and safe space for you to explore your concerns. Through the process of self discovery many find greater equanimity, purpose, and compassion, and an expanded capacity for love.
My specialties include identity concerns, existential challenges and crises, cultural adjustment, life transitions, depression, anxiety, loss and grief and trauma. I enjoy working with college and graduate students, international students, and young adults. I also enjoy working with creatives, scientists, healthcare professionals, activists and meditators and bring my own direct experience with meditation and creativity to my work.
My therapeutic lens is psychodynamic and is deeply informed by Buddhist psychology. I integrate mindfulness practices, meditation, breath work, and Compassion Focused Therapy in my approach. My practice is collaborative, holistic, and flexible, holding space for all aspects of wellbeing, the emotional, physical, spiritual, relational, and creative.
I have been the field since in 1994 following a career in the arts. I have worked in college counseling centers, community mental health and hospital settings and have been in private practice since 2004.
