My work is based on the belief that caring for our mental health is an essential part of our overall wellbeing. I collaborate with my clients to help them understand their strengths and gain insight into themselves, experiment with new ways of interacting with others, and learn new skills to work towards cultivating fulfilling lives. As part of this process I strive to create a warm, empathic environment, and I prioritize developing therapeutic relationships with clients based on authenticity and trust. I draw from client-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based therapy techniques in my work.
As a generalist, I am experienced in helping individuals with a broad range of concerns including anxiety/stress, mood difficulties, identity, career and school concerns, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I have trained and worked in several college counseling centers over the years, including large state schools as well as smaller private schools. I enjoy working with both undergraduate and graduate students.
