Leah Behl
My goal in treatment is to help individuals find more effective ways to live healthier, happier, and more successful lives. What this looks like for each client depends on individualized treatment goals. Among my specialties is the treatment of anxiety and depression. I successfully help parents shift their children's behaviors from problematic to more cooperative and positive. I also specialize in trauma recovery, treating victims of childhood abuse, major accidents, rape, domestic violence, community violence, other crimes etc. In addition, I also work with issues related to adoption, the death of a loved one, divorce, etc.
My main theoretical approach, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one in which a motivated individual may make positive emotional and behavioral changes in a relatively short time. I may also incorporate mindfulness, emotion regulation, exposure, distress tolerance, play therapy, and/or behavioral reinforcement (among other skills and techniques) into treatment.
I listen to my clients and work with them to discover and enhance their strengths and skills to help them transform their lives in to ones they enjoy living. If you would like to make positive changes in your life I would love to help.
