Lauren Lay

Lauren Lay, MA, MLP, LLP holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology. With over 20 years of experience as a case manager and psychotherapist, she has worked in diverse settings, including residential and community mental health, hospitals, mental health courts, and private practice.

Lauren believes that struggles do not define us as weak or inadequate and offers a compassionate, judgment-free environment grounded in empathy and understanding. She helps clients explore their stories, take responsibility, and release anxieties about what is beyond their control. Her therapeutic approach integrates attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), person-centered, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), humanistic, Gestalt, and existential therapies, focusing on improving self-awareness, self-acceptance, and interpersonal relationships.

Lauren specializes in working with adults and couples navigating relationship challenges, emotional expression, and anxiety. Clients often find her warm, empathetic, and insightful, fostering openness and significant personal and relational growth.

As the managing associate and attending provider at Hutchison & Associates’ Fenton, Michigan office, Lauren offers both telehealth and in-clinic sessions to meet clients' needs. The office is located at 10089 White Lake Rd, Fenton, MI 48430.
