Kirtley Young
I have over a decade of experience working with people from all backgrounds in schools and community clinic settings. I love working with high functioning anxiety, "people pleasers," and perfectionists and those struggling with PTSD/CPTSD. I'm familiar with the common experiences of first generation college students and the affects on mental health. I am also passionate about providing clinical supervision for early career clinicians focused on burnout prevention and honing clinical skills for trauma focused care. My style is described as warm and friendly and I find humor a vital tool as we navigate challenging waters together.
I have extensive experience working with complex trauma and dissociation, as well as co-occurring ADHD and trauma. I regularly utilize EMDR, parts work, and psychodynamic theories but most importantly I use a person centered and relational approach that embodies respect, inclusivity, and humility.
Collaboration is vital for progress in therapy. We will work together to explore how your past affects your present, develop your therapy goals, and share in decision making about treatment. I look forward to meeting you!
