Hello, I'm Kim Kidders-Montoya, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) with over six years of experience. I am passionate about working with youth, adults, and their families to help them navigate life's transitions and embrace the complexities that make life worth living. My specialties include family dynamics, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, and empowerment.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Drama Therapy from Lesley University. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work in various community-based mental health settings, including crisis intervention, group homes, and in-home therapy. These experiences have taught me to recognize the resilience in people, the significance of personal experiences, and the importance of our intersecting identities.
In my practice, I utilize a range of treatment approaches, including mindfulness, drama therapy, trauma-informed care, the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) model, relational therapy, and solution-focused therapy. My approach is rooted in empathy and compassion, stemming from an awareness that everyone comes from different backgrounds and identities.
At the heart of my therapeutic philosophy is the belief that therapy is about creating meaningful relationships and is centered on the individual or family served. I approach therapy with curiosity, humor, and an energetic spirit, helping individuals gain new perspectives and techniques that allow them to be vulnerable, resilient, and better equipped to cope with life's challenges.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you on your journey. If you're ready to take the next step, let's connect and explore how we can work together to achieve your goals.
