At Foundations in Love Counseling, I recognize the unique intersections of mental health, love, and spirituality within the Black community. I understand the importance of addressing these dimensions holistically to support individuals and relationships in navigating life's challenges and pursuing holistic well-being.
My approach is rooted in various counseling theories, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Humanistic approaches. By drawing from these diverse theories, I tailor the interventions from those theories to meet the specific needs and experiences of my clients.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps couples and individuals understand and regulate their emotions, fostering deeper connections and more secure attachments. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) emphasizes mindfulness, acceptance, and values-driven action, empowering individuals to live authentically and in alignment with their core beliefs. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) equips individuals with skills to manage emotions, improve relationships, and enhance overall well-being. Humanistic approaches focus on the inherent worth and potential for growth within each individual, fostering self-actualization and personal empowerment.
Through my counseling services, I aim to create a safe and inclusive space where individuals and couples can explore their mental health, relationships, and spiritual journeys. I strive to empower my clients to embrace their authentic selves, cultivate meaningful connections, and embark on a path toward healing and wholeness.
