Kelsea Surace

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, CASAC
Last Updated 233 days ago

Hello! My name is Kelsea. I am a skilled and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York. I truly believe that everyone has the ability to improve their life experience. I create a safe space for my clients to be their authentic selves, while guiding self-exploration and identification of goals. I utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed practices to assist in achieving these goals. I meet my clients where they are by utilizing an affirming, non-judgmental and person-centered approach.

I specialize in working with teens, young adults and college students to address depression, anxiety, alcohol/substance use, trauma/PTSD, suicidal thoughts/self-harm, low self-esteem, identity related issues, school stress and life transitions.

My therapy approach is empowering and strength-focused, as well as direct and results-driven. While I tailor my approach to meet client specific needs, I often use Narrative Therapy to assist clients in taking control of and/or re-writing their story. I have extensive training and experience providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and evidence-based Trauma/PTSD therapy modalities.

I aim to make quality mental health care accessible. If you are self-pay, please reach out so we can explore setting a fee that works for you.
