Hello, I'm Keith, a 53-year-old African-American male therapist with over two decades of experience in the field. I hold two master's degreesâone in community counseling and another in criminal justiceâand I'm currently pursuing my doctoral degree in Counselor Education at the University of Cincinnati. Since becoming clinically licensed in 2000, I've worked extensively with at-risk youth, families, individuals re-entering society from prison, and those recovering from substance abuse. Additionally, I've supported men court-ordered into domestic violence intervention programs and have a deep focus on trauma-related issues.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and integrative, combining evidence-based practices with mindfulness and yoga. I'm a practitioner of EMDR therapy, polyvagal-informed practice, trauma-sensitive yoga, and IFS-informed therapy. I also weave in aspects of MBCT and mindfulness practices to help clients navigate their challenges. My personal journey with yoga has profoundly influenced my professional work, and I believe in the power of these practices to foster resilience and healing.
In our sessions, you can expect a compassionate and collaborative environment where we work together to address your unique needs. Whether you're dealing with addiction, anger management, ADHD, grief, trauma, or relationship issues, my goal is to support you in finding balance and well-being. I have a particular interest in mindfulness-based and yoga-based interventions for trauma, which is also the focus of my doctoral research.
Outside of my professional life, I maintain a daily practice of yoga and meditation, and I prioritize healthy eating and exercise. I enjoy reading, hiking, and traveling, and I've been happily married for 24 years with four adult children.
If you're ready to take the next step in your healing journey, I invite you to schedule an appointment with me. Let's work together to create a path towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
