Kayla Hayes PMHNP
Kayla Hayes is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a doctor of nursing practice. Kayla graduated with her masters and her doctorate from Vanderbilt University. Kayla specializes in treating depression, anxiety, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and trauma. She has experience working with people in all stages of recovery from substance use disorders and eating disorders. Kayla is a LGBTQ+ affirming and weight inclusive provider. Kayla takes the time to listen to her patients and works with patients to develop a treatment plan that aligns the patients' goals and values. Kayla frequently integrates non-pharmacological interventions into her practice, such as setting goals surrounding increasing time spent outdoors, engaging joyful movement, and cultivating a good work-life balance. In addition to clinical practice, Kayla also lectures at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing on the diagnosis and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Outside of practicing psychiatry, Kayla loves going to concerts, traveling, watching the latest true crime documentary, and hanging out with her dogs.
