Welcome! I am a licensed psychologist and first-generation Chinese American woman. I earned my doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. I have extensive clinical experience with emerging and older adults from diverse backgrounds at different University Counseling Centers, private practice, and community outpatient setting. I specialize in Asian and Asian American mental health, post-traumatic growth, relationship concerns, career development, depression, anxiety, eating and body image concerns.
My approach to therapy:
I am warm, affirming, and inquisitive! I am committed to empowering you in your pursuit of self-growth and meaning in life. I believe in the power of healing and change through our secure, therapeutic relationship. As such, I strive to co-create a safe and affirming space in which all of your life experiences, values, and cultural identities are embraced.
As your therapist and mental health advocate, I strive to help you reflect on your past, gain insights into your relationship patterns and coping strategies and engage in intentional efforts to change your life to be congruent with who you are and what you value. I also like to explore with you the impact of systemic oppression and cultural expectations on your values, identities, relationships, and mental health.
