For many folks, transitioning to college life feels difficult enough. But for those who are holding themselves together after trauma, struggling with chronic illness and mental health, or those who are first-generation students, the hurdles to being successful can feel insurmountable.
As a therapist, I specialize in working with clients who identify as BIPOC, neurodiverse, or who are navigating chronic health conditions. My goal is to help clients recover from PTSD, set and maintain healthy boundaries, and navigate relationships in ways that set them free from people-pleasing. I have worked extensively with survivors of sexual assault and other forms of abuse.
I work for Spring Forest Counseling, a group therapy practice located in Okemos, where I see clients in-person and virtually. I am trained in EMDR for PTSD, and also utilize IFS/parts work, mindfulness, and exposure therapy when relevant. My approach is direct, empowerment-based, and educational.
