I'm a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with dual master's degrees in nursing from Norwich University and in mental health counseling from UMass Boston. My path into mental health care started with a deep interest in the stories people carry and the strength it takes to face life's hardest moments. Early in my career, I worked as a licensed mental health counselor, and that foundation continues to shape how I show up with patients today—with empathy, respect, and a genuine belief in your ability to change and grow.
I bring over a decade of experience across multiple care settings, including community mental health, inpatient detoxification, and residential substance use treatment. These experiences gave me the privilege of working with people facing overwhelming challenges—from stigma and systemic barriers to the invisible grip of substance use disorder. What always stood out was their resilience and courage. Being part of that healing process is what keeps me grounded and motivated in this work.
I use an integrated approach to care that recognizes the whole person—your biology, psychology, relationships, and life experiences. I start by building trust and understanding your unique strengths. From there, I draw on evidence-based modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, motivational interviewing, and acceptance & commitment therapy. When appropriate, I incorporate medication as a supportive tool. This combined approach lets us tailor your care plan based on what will work best for you.
Sessions with me are collaborative and human. You can expect a mix of warmth, curiosity, and clinical expertise, with space to explore what's going on underneath the surface, not just treat symptoms. Whether we're unpacking old patterns, navigating substance use recovery, or exploring a new diagnosis, we'll do it together, at your pace. Humor often plays a part—it helps us connect, process heavy moments, and remember that healing doesn't always have to feel heavy.
I have specific experience working with patients navigating substance use disorders and members of the LGBTQ+ community. I welcome individuals from all walks of life, especially those who may have felt unseen or unheard in previous mental health settings.
What sets me apart is my ability to meet people where they are—with compassion, clinical depth, and a commitment to care that's personal and empowering. I don't believe in "fixing" people. I believe in partnering with you to uncover your strengths, shift unhelpful patterns, and build a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
Outside of work, I ground myself through meditation, time in nature, and quiet moments by the water. These practices help me stay connected to myself and to the values that guide my work. For me, self-care isn't about doing things perfectly—it's about tuning in, being real, and giving ourselves permission to rest and reset.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just unsure of where to start, you don't have to figure it all out alone. Reaching out is a brave first step. I'm here to help you take the next one.
