Karen utilizes non-judgmental and empowering approaches that focus on helping individuals access internal strengths to cope with life's difficulties. She works based on the belief that each person is unique and possesses a distinct wisdom that, when accessed, allows for powerful healing. Karen offers unconditional support for improved wellbeing while actively challenging behaviors that may hinder progress. Interventions specific to clients' needs are regularly reviewed in order to provide tools to be used between therapy sessions. Since not all tools fit every personal style, Karen finds it important to provide a variety of strategies to address symptoms and underlying issues. Karen attended Washington University School of Social Work, and she has practiced in a range of mental health facilities for the last 20 years including: Inpatient unit with Wabash Valley Hospital, partial hospital and case management with Lafayette Clubhouse, intensive outpatient and transition programs with McCallum Place, and individual therapy with Counseling Works. These years of experience have honed her ability to effectively treat an assortment of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress management, eating disorders, self injury, addictions and trauma.
I can provide you with paperwork for reimbursement from your insurance company if you are seeking out-of-network sessions.
