Kalen DeGroat/Transformative Therapy Solutions
College is supposed to be exciting. A fresh start. Independence. Growth.
But for many, it feels overwhelming, lonely, and quietly exhausting.
You may look capable and fine on the outside, but inside you feel like you're crumbling-unmotivated, exhausted, alone, on edge, scattered, or stuck in your head. You overthink everything you say. You compare yourself to everyone else. You feel pressure to succeed, to have it all figured out, to not mess up. And no matter how hard you try, it still never feels like enough.
In high school, you knew how to succeed. You got good grades, kept up with expectations, and figured out how to manage your workload. You may have been the responsible one, the organized one, or the student others saw as “having it together.”
College feels different.
Classes are harder, faster paced, and less structured. The workload feels heavier, the expectations less clear, and no room for error. You are suddenly responsible for managing your time, motivation, routines, and life without the daily structure and support you were used to from your parents.
Struggling in college after doing well in high school can feel embarrassing or isolating, but it is far more common than you think. Therapy can help you adjust, recalibrate, and regain a sense of confidence and control.
If you are ready to feel more capable, grounded, and supported as you navigate this new chapter, I would be honored to work with you.
You don't need to have it all figured out to move forward.
Therapy with me is supportive, down to earth, and human. This is a space where you can show up exactly as you are, whether you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, unmotivated, or unsure of yourself. You don't need to have the “right words” or answers.
My style is warm, engaged, and collaborative. I am not here to lecture or judge, but to help you understand yourself, build skills, and move forward.
We will talk, laugh, get real about what is not working, and focus on helping you feel more capable and confident in your day to day life.
In our work together, we will:
-Break down what is actually making college feel so hard right now.
-Identify new strategies to manage life.
-Create realistic systems for managing classes, time, and responsibilities
-Reduce mental overload and the constant feeling of being behind
-Build confidence without pressure to be perfect
-Learn how to reset when you fall off track instead of spiraling
-Practice skills for independence, decision making, and self trust
You will leave sessions feeling lighter and calm and with a sense of direction, as well as practical tools to manage things.
You don't need to wait any longer. If college feels harder than you expected and you want support from someone who truly understands this transition, I would love to connect.
Call/Text/Email me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if working together feels like the right fit. This can be your first step toward feeling more confident, supported, and capable again.
