I often work with clients who are feeling out of place in college, or having a hard time connecting with peers. Other clients come in feeling anxious, stressed, or trying to figure out who they are. I welcome whatever it is that you're bringing, and can assure you that we'll talk about it in a laid-back way, at your pace. One of my favorite things about therapy is the opportunity to be understood and accepted exactly as you are, even as you are trying to change. I work with clients to develop a more compassionate way of approaching problems, and towards bringing your fears and shame to light in a supportive, warm environment. While I incorporate various theories and techniques in my work, my philosophy on counseling expands beyond diagnosis and pathology. I strive to help clients feel seen and heard as fellow human beings, rather than as a collection of symptoms. I particularly enjoy helping clients work on building a healthier, more accepting relationship with themselves. We are complex, complicated beings - I believe that identity cannot be summarized in an "elevator pitch" or a few lines on a resume. Wellness includes incorporating even the parts of ourselves that we dislike.
