College is often a new experience. Now, instead of just going to school and doing extracurriculars, you may also be living on your own for the first time, managing your own schedule, making new social connections, trying to keep in touch with friends from high school, consider a career, and of course actually attend your classes!

It can feel so stressful to be managing emotions, working through anxiety, or struggling with low mood or sadness on top of everything else. You may be really throwing yourself into your social life while avoiding schoolwork, or maybe you are completing your studies but feeling really isolated.

I understand the college experience. Not only did I attend college and then graduate school, but I have spent many years working in university settings helping college, graduate, and professional students improve their mental health.

My hope is that through you work with me, I can help you manage anxious, depressed, or ADHD symptoms, improve confidence and strengthen identity, and support you as you navigate the major life transitions you are navigating during this period of your life. We’ll help you identify who you are and what matters to you, so your values can guide your decisions.

My hope is that we we will explore how your past experiences, relationships, and identity impact who you are, how you feel, what you think, and the behaviors you do. You get to decide if these patterns make sense for you or if you’d like to change them.

We can work together to shift thinking patterns, such as perfectionism and negative self-talk, that may be getting in the way of you enjoying college. I often incorporate mindfulness skills, so that you can be more present and focus on the present moment, without getting caught up in feelings of overwhelm, overthinking, and overplanning.

It is such an honor to do this work and I would love the opportunity to connect with you! Please reach out via my website and we can have a brief consultation call to be sure if feels like a good fit for you prior to scheduling your first appointment.
