To those looking in, it looks like you have it all together. School is going well, you got the new promotion at work, or you’re just generally kicking ass at life. But if only they knew how miserable you are on the inside. It feels like life has become out of control, every day is a challenge and the only way you’ve learned to manage it, is by controlling your food, body, and exercise, to turn to substances or all of the above. You don’t like the relationship you have with your body and food, but it is the only thing that makes life somewhat bearable. Or you first started using substances to have fun, but now you find that you can’t make it throughout the day without using something. All the things that you have tried to help you feel more in control are now feeling out of control, overwhelming and you don’t know how to get things back on track.

I specialize in helping people learn how to manage feeling out of control, in pain, in distress, in healthier ways. No one wants to be in pain, or feel like they can’t manage what life is throwing at them. I help folks figure out how they are going to reclaim their life, take back control in a healthy way. I help people create and develop a better relationship with food, body, exercise, and substances.

Therapy is work, and finding someone to help you with that work is important. As you search for a therapist you will find lots of different people who practice in lots of different ways, none of them are wrong, but it’s about finding what is going to be a good fit for you. I used evidenced-based practices to help people learn how to manage emotions and reclaim their lives and their bodies.
